Roots is a neighborhood grocery store and organic café offering healthy bulk foods, household cleaning products, personal care products, full service deli items and fresh prepared meals to shoppers looking for plastic-free, sustainably sourced and ethically manufactured products. Living lighter is simple at Roots
“Zero waste” is in our name because we are focused on making drastic improvements to the wasteful pollution created by current grocery store standards and helping you live lighter and happier by eliminating plastic packaging and food waste, typically experienced when shopping at conventional grocery stores. We make bulk-shopping for food and household items easy.
If you can fill it…you can shop with it!
How It Works
STEP 1
Weigh any clean container.
Bring in your own clean container, jar or bag from home and weigh it on our self-service scales. You also have the option to use provided paper, free jars, or purchase any one of a number of available jars or bags.
STEP 2
Label your containers.
Label your container with the weight, so we can deduct the weight at check out. You only pay for its contents!
STEP 3
Fill it with your favorite food or household good, anywhere in the Market.
STEP 4
Bring your items to checkout. We’ll deduct the container weight, prior to payment.
Pay with cash, check or credit card and feel great about saving money, reducing plastic packaging materials and food waste by buying exactly what you need, when you need it!
